Almost time to Pedalo across the Atlantic!

Hi everyone, Well here is the first blog from Gran Canaria, and I’m pleased to report that everything is going well… although I was a little worried when I received a text message from Iberia, telling me that one of my bags had been taken off the plane as the aircraft was overloaded. Thankfully, it was delivered to our apartment this afternoon, so I can now take a shower and put some clean clothes on! Although Anthony is coming out to join me at the week-end, I am not on my own. I have a great team of people with me at the moment, my good friend and cameraman Ian, and Richard from Rannoch Adventure. I need to say a big thanks to Richard as he left the UK six days ago, towing the boat through Europe and using numerous ferries to get the boat here in Puerto De Morgan. […]

Rowing the Atlantic in a Pedalo!

Happy New Year everyone, I cant believe that in less than two weeks I will be flying out to the Canary Islands to cross the Atlantic, which will be my 3rd crossing of the ocean. The boat has been designed and constructed by Rannoch Adventure, and is a one off experimental boat that incorporates a pedalo and rowing position, as well as a kite system that we are testing. On water trials have been extremely positive and thanks to the support and knowledge from the team at Rannoch we have what I think is going to be an outstanding boat and I’m sure Kitty Rouge will look after us both. In terms of equipment on board we have all the technology that you would expect to find on a conventional ocean rowing boat.
